What we collect, where it goes, and what we will never do with it.

If you are an operator

What we collect

What you type into the application: your business name and legal name, owner or contact name, phone, email, website, the areas you cover, your pricing and terms, and anything else you choose to tell us.

What happens to it

Most of it is meant to be public. That is the point of a directory listing, and your profile page shows your business details, coverage and pricing so a customer can find you.

We use your contact details to reach you about your listing, verification and renewals. We do not publish an owner's personal mobile number unless it is the number you gave us as your business line.

Getting it removed

Ask, and we take your listing down within 30 days, usually much sooner. No reason needed. See the operator agreement.

If you are looking to rent a washer and dryer

There are two ways your details reach us, and they are treated differently. Which one you are in is told to you on the form before you submit anything.

You chose an operator

If you searched your ZIP, landed on an operator's profile and asked them for a quote, your name and contact details go to that operator and nobody else. We do not resell it, we do not send it to their competitors, and the operator pays us nothing for it.

You came from our advertising without choosing anyone

If you responded to our own advertising and did not pick a specific operator, we connect you with an operator who serves your area. Nobody pays us for that introduction. If you go on to rent from them and they deliver the machines, that operator pays us a one-time $50 fee. It is not added to your bill, it does not change your rate, and it is not a commission on anything you pay them afterwards.

The form tells you this before you submit. If you would rather pick a specific company yourself, use the coverage map and contact them directly through their profile.

Uncovered ZIP codes

If you searched a ZIP where nobody is listed yet, you can leave contact details so we can tell you when someone covers you. We hold those until we have someone to tell you about, or until you ask us to delete them.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number on a request form, we may text you about that request: to confirm it, to answer your questions, and to work out a delivery day with the operator covering your area. That is the only reason we text you. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

To be plain about the one place your number does go: when you ask us to find you a rental, we pass your request, including your phone number, to the single independent operator covering your area, so they can arrange it. That is the service you asked for, not marketing, and we are not paid for passing it on. That operator receives your request only. They do not receive your text messaging consent, they cannot text you on our behalf, and we do not sell, rent or share your number with anyone else for any purpose.

Message frequency varies with the conversation, and is usually fewer than ten messages about a request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, and HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not stop the operator calling you about a request you submitted.

What we do not collect

We do not take payment card numbers on this site. If you buy a Verified badge, that goes through a payment processor and we never see or store your card details.

We do not ask for social security numbers, dates of birth, or any government identification.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets a cookie in your browser and records things like the page you are on, roughly where in the country you are, and whether you arrived from a search, an ad or a link. We use it to work out which pages are worth keeping, nothing else.

It is not connected to anything you type into a form. If you send us an inquiry, that information goes through the process described above and is not passed to Google. Your name, phone number, email and address are never sent to Analytics.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns it off everywhere at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and most browsers can block analytics cookies on their own. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Who else touches it

Ordinary suppliers who make the site work, and nothing more:

• Our web host, for serving the site.
• Our database provider, for storing applications and inquiries.
• Our email provider, for sending notifications and replies.
• A payment processor, if you buy a badge.
• Google Analytics, for the visit counting described above.

They process this information on our behalf. None of them are permitted to use it for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Operator listings stay while you are listed. Applications that never became listings, and consumer inquiries, are kept while they are useful for the thing you asked for and then cleared out. Ask us to delete something sooner and we will.

Your choices

• Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
• Ask us to correct it.
• Ask us to delete it, and we will unless we are required to keep it.
• Reply STOP to any text message and we stop texting.
• Unsubscribe from any email and we stop emailing.

Children

This is a service for businesses and for adults renting appliances. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and email listed operators.
