What a washer needs where it goes
- Hot and cold water valves. Two threaded spigots, usually in a box in the wall. The operator brings the fill hoses.
- A drain. A standpipe in the wall or a laundry sink the drain hose can hook into.
- A regular outlet. A washer runs on a standard 120 volt plug. Only a dryer needs the big outlet.
- A level floor. The installer levels the feet so it does not walk during the spin cycle.
Why rent a washer instead of buying one
Repairs are the operator's problem, not yours, and you can end the rental when you move. If you already own a dryer, renting only the washer costs less than a set, and every operator below also rents the full set if you want to add a dryer later.
